SIP trunking
By taking service provider requirements into account, Alcatel-Lucent is
continuously improving SIP trunking. To support the evolution to IP, commercial
offer pricing for Alcatel-Lucent Office Communication Solutions has been
repositioned to achieve “IP at TDM” level prices.
Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch 8 Series Phones Extended Edition
Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch 8 Series Phones Extended Edition (EE) with native gigabit
connectivity (4028, 4038, 4068) are now included in the Alcatel-Lucent Office
Communication Solutions. As a result, SMBs benefit from additional capabilities
with no change in price.
Data infrastructure
The Alcatel-Lucent Office Communication Solutions LAN and WLAN infrastructure
portfolio has been enhanced with new products and features. The new capabilities
can be used in pure data and converged voice and data solutions. They can also be
combined with Alcatel-Lucent VoIP and IP Touch phones with a guaranteed level of
professional service (QoS, security). New for 2008 is the Alcatel-Lucent
OmniSwitch 6400, a stackable LAN switch with Layer 3 routing and gigabit
capabilities. It provides powerful LAN switching features and more bandwidth at a
competitive price.
Pre-packaged Alcatel-Lucent XML Web APIs
Alcatel-Lucent XML Web Services APIs are now natively pre-packaged with the
Alcatel-Lucent Extended Communication Server as part of the Office
Communication Suites. This makes it easier to deploy third-party, value-added
business applications. Refer to the Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program for
availability of certified applications for Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office.

Mobility

Mobile end users need to keep in touch with their business environment. Alcatel-Lucent
Office Communication Solutions now provide mobile users with the following full suite of
new voice and data mobility solutions:
One number service
One number service gives mobile users remote access to Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX
Office voice features. This makes a mobile phone part of the company’s
communications system. With one number service, the mobile phone becomes an
extension of Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office, inside or outside the company, and a
user’s business number becomes their single point of contact.
Two solutions are available:

  • One number service for any phone provides access to features via dualtone multi-frequency (DTMF) codes through remote customization.
  • One number service for Nokia® E-series phones and Windows® Mobile 6 smartphones with a software client gives users integrated, ergonomic access to functions.

Push mobile service
Push mobile service is a powerful software solution for mobile employees. Push
mobile gives mobile employees access to groupware information using mobile
devices such as a Pocket PC or smartphone. It is an extension of the company’s mail
server and synchronizes e-mails, calendars, contacts and to-do lists over the air
and in real time.

sharing, audio recording, file sharing, presence and instant messaging, Alcatel-
Lucent OmniTouch My Teamwork Office Edition is the key.
Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch My Teamwork Office Edition is a full-featured,
multimedia, multi-party conferencing and collaboration solution that operates on a
single computer. It is a software-based solution with no proprietary hardware. It
works with Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office and supports up to 3,000 instant
messaging users, 96 audio ports and 120 data conferencing ports. The presenceaware,
easy-to-use interface supports a full feature set, including meet-me, adhoc,
scheduled events with click-to-conference, instant messaging chat,
application and desktop sharing, document management and more.
With Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch My Teamwork Office Edition, easy and powerful
collaboration with anyone inside or outside the company is a reality.
Fax server solution
The fax server application embedded in the Alcatel-Lucent Extended
Communication Server provides Fax2Mail and Mail2Fax capabilities that work with
Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office. This makes sending, receiving and managing faxes
as easy as managing e-mails. In addition, a print-to-fax server feature allows users
to send faxes from any application that has print capabilities.
